On December 15th, the International Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI) recently issued a forecast that the global sales of semiconductor equipment in 2020 will increase by 16% over 2019, reaching 68.9 billion US dollars, a record high. SEMI believes that by 2022 this sales will increase to 76.1 billion US dollars. In the first half of 2020, semiconductor investment for data centers is strong, and SEMI has raised its equipment sales forecast as of July. Mainland China, Taiwan, and South Korea are expected to become major consumer regions in 2020. China's strong investment in chips and storage equipment is expected to drive the region to occupy the first place in the total semiconductor equipment market for the first time this year. It is expected that by 2021 and 2022, as memory picks up and logic investment increases, South Korea will lead the world in semiconductor equipment investment.
